Darrin Smith, PhD, LAT
Musculoskeletal Practice | Sports Medicine
Darrin is a clinical athletic trainer with a passion for musculoskeletal health and function. He provides orthopedic care and movement programming that supports recovery, prevention, performance and longevity. His focus is on creating the right conditions for meaningful change, with a plan that fits your goals and lifestyle. This approach is shaped by decades of clinical experience and a deep commitment to evidence-informed care.
His academic background includes a PhD in Evidence-Based Practice and Therapeutic Rehabilitation from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, graduate studies in Exercise Science at Western Illinois University and undergraduate degrees in Athletic Training and Physical Education from Concordia University Wisconsin.
That foundation has guided his development into a clinician who prioritizes clarity, collaboration and personalized progress. Over the course of his career, he has served as a clinician, professor and program leader, working with individuals who range from collegiate athletes to retirees. He creates a space that’s equal parts focused and supportive. Your goals guide the conversation, and your plan is built collaboratively, so you leave empowered and clear on what comes next.
In addition to clinical practice, he has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally and regionally on a variety of orthopedic assessment and rehabilitation topics. He also serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and Journal of Sport Rehabilitation.
His goal is straightforward: bring you into the process, build a plan together and move toward what matters most.
